Season of Giving

Today I received an email from a major retailer and at the bottom of the email it had a box that said, "We Support St. Jude" and had a link to their website to donate.  What a terrific way to help a great cause and also show their customers that they give back to their community.  I also received an email this week from a colleague Jeff Collins saying that he is raising money for Muscular Dystrophy and if I don't already have a charity I am supporting this holiday season could I please add his link to my blog.

Even though I have a three charity's I support during the holidays and throughout the year I want to do everything I can to get the word out to others about giving.  This is a year that many people will be doing without when there is such an abundance of resources out there.  The truth is, there is not a lack of resources--there is just a lack in linking the resources to the need.  My life dream is to see some genius create a system for linking the average donor to the actual source of need.  Let's all find creative ways to help---leveraging what we already have at our disposal to help those less fortunate.  By doing so we can truly make the holidays a season of giving.
